How many GSDs from working bloodlines become family companions, as opposed to becoming MWDs, Patrol Dogs or full-time SAR Dogs? Does the diversion of these dogs into the civilian market adversely influence breeding programs?

How do I stop my dog barking?

Question by djembe: How do I stop my dog barking?
I have a 4 year old Maltese he never had a problem barking at our old house. Since we have moved there is a dog over the fence that barks and so my dog barks back constantly and paws at the fence. I have to physically prise him away from the fence when I go out to tell him off otherwise he does not listen to me. I would like to teach my dog not to bark even if the other dog does.

I go to petfinder.com and they always have something near your area. Check it out. Make sure you keep checking back at least every other day for new puppies that arrived.

For some reason, I can’t find live too many live puppies for sale on ebay. And craiglist don’t allow “dogs for sale” advertising. So what online website can I advertise puppies for sale?

I’m 12, and i’m going to get a German Shepherd in a couple months, but it says on a website that they are one of the most dangerous dogs…why?

They can be but never to their owners. I had an…aqauintence of sorts who would kick his German shepard and it would never bite back. It was the nicest and most loyal dog I’ve seen. :) the guy died in a bar fight so I guess the moral is don’t be a jerk :)

What is the going rate for dog walking?

My son who is 10 wants to start a dog walking business. We live in a large apartment complex and many of our neighbors have dogs and busy lives. He figured he could make some money with a few strategically placed signs, but we don’t know what the rate should be. Any ideas?
We live in Nashville, TN. And as for the length of time, we were thinking 15-30 minutes.

Depends on where you live. In NYC it’s at least 10 – 15 bucks per walk. When I lived in DC some kids charged 5 – 10 depending on length of time.
